Biography

Rhun ap Iorwerth is a Welsh politician and journalist. Born in Tonteg, Rhondda Cynon Taf, he was raised in Meirionydd and Anglesey. He studied politics and Welsh at Cardiff University, graduating in 1993. Since June 2023, he has served as the Leader of Plaid Cymru, and he has been the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Ynys Môn since 2013.

Ap Iorwerth began his career in journalism in 1994, joining BBC Cymru Wales.
