Rhee Chang-yong is a South Korean economist who has served as the 27th Governor of the Bank of Korea since April 2022, with his term concluding in April 2026. Born in Nonsan, South Korea, in 1960, Rhee holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Seoul National University and a doctorate in economics from Harvard University, completed in 1989 under the advisement of Lawrence Summers.
