Biography

Dr. Rebecca Bill Chavez is the president and CEO of the Inter-American Dialogue, bringing over 30 years of experience across academia, policymaking, and government service. In her current role, she leads an organization focused on policy analysis and exchange on issues in the Western Hemisphere.

From 2013 to 2016, Dr. Chavez served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs, a role for which she received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service.
