Biography

Rainer Kattel is an Estonian academic and science administrator, born on March 20, 1974. He is Professor of Innovation and Public Governance at the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, UCL, and Research Professor and Chair of Innovation Policy and Technology Governance at Tallinn University of Technology. From 2015 to 2016, he was a visiting professor at Columbia University's Earth Institute.

Kattel earned a BA in Political Philosophy, an MA in Classics, and a Ph.D.
