Ben Saul is the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Counter Terrorism. In this role, he focuses on protecting human rights while countering terrorism.

He is also the Challis Chair of International Law at The University of Sydney. Additionally, Saul is an Australian Research Council Future Fellow.
