Biography

Pramila Jayapal is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington's 7th congressional district since 2017.

A member of the Democratic Party, she represents most of Seattle and some suburban areas of King County. Jayapal holds the distinction of being the first Indian-American woman elected to the U.S.

House of Representatives, and the first Asian American to represent Washington at the federal level.
