Prabal Gurung, born in 1974 in Singapore to Nepali parents and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a Nepalese American fashion designer. Before entering the fashion world, he earned a bachelor's degree in hotel management. His interest in clothing and colors led him to the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi, India, where he apprenticed for local fashion houses and designed with Manish Arora.
