Pierre Perron is a Canadian econometrician and a Professor at Boston University. He is widely recognized for his work on the Phillips–Perron test, which assesses the presence of a unit root in time series regression. This test was a key outcome of his Ph.D. studies, conducted under the supervision of Peter C. B. Phillips.
Perron joined Boston University as a Professor in 1997, a position he continues to hold. Prior to this, he served as a Professor at Université de Montréal from 1992 to 1997.
