Philip R. Lane is an Irish economist who holds significant leadership positions within European financial institutions. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) and concurrently serves as the ECB chief economist.
Prior to his current roles at the ECB, Lane was the Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland from 2015 to 2019.
