Biography

Peter John Koutoujian is an American politician who currently serves as the Sheriff of Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Born on September 17, 1961, he was appointed to this role by Governor Deval Patrick on January 14, 2011, filling the term of the late Sheriff James DiPaola. As part of his duties, Koutoujian opens the Harvard University commencement ceremony.

Prior to his appointment as Sheriff, Koutoujian was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, having been elected in 1996.
