Biography

Pete Ricketts is an American businessman and politician currently serving as the junior United States Senator from Nebraska, a position he assumed on January 23, 2023. Prior to his Senate appointment, Ricketts served as the 40th Governor of Nebraska from 2015 to 2023. Born in Nebraska City and raised in Omaha, he is the eldest son of Joe Ricketts, founder of TD Ameritrade, and Marlene Ricketts. He and his wife, Susanne Shore, have three children.
