Biography

Peter Rey Aguilar is an American politician currently serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 33rd congressional district, a position he has held since 2015. Since 2023, he has chaired the House Democratic Caucus, making him the highest-ranking Latino in Congress.

Born in Fontana, California, Aguilar grew up in San Bernardino and is of Mexican descent. He graduated from the University of Redlands, where he studied government and business administration.
