Peniel Joseph serves as the Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy and holds the Barbara Jordan Chair at the LBJ School. He is also a Distinguished Service Leadership Professor and a prominent public voice on civil and human rights, democracy, citizenship, and dignity. Dr. Joseph is a frequent national commentator on issues of race, democracy, and civil rights.
