Paul Edgar serves as the Associate Director of the William P. Clements, Jr. Center for National Security at the University of Texas-Austin. His academic background includes a PhD in Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures from the University of Texas.
His research focuses on the historical origins of diplomacy, war, and strategy, particularly in pre-classical antiquity. Prior to his academic career, Edgar dedicated more than 22 years to military service as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army.
