Paul M. Abbate is an American former law enforcement officer who served as the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 2021 until his retirement on January 20, 2025. He also briefly served as acting director from January 19 to January 20, 2025, following Christopher A. Wray's resignation.
