Paul Gardner Allen (1953–2018) was an American businessman, computer programmer, and investor. He co-founded Microsoft Corporation with his childhood friend Bill Gates in 1975, playing a key role in the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s. Allen attended Lakeside School where he befriended Bill Gates, and they developed their programming skills on time-sharing computer systems.
