Biography

Pascal Lamy is a French political consultant, businessman, and former civil servant and politician. He served as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) from September 1, 2005, to September 1, 2013, for eight years, having been reappointed for a second four-year term in 2009. Prior to this, he was the European Commissioner for Trade for five years, from September 13, 1999, to November 22, 2004.
