Biography

P Nandalal Weerasinghe is a Sri Lankan economist and banker who currently serves as the 17th Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, a position he assumed in April 2022. He was approached to replace Ajith Nivard Cabraal amidst the 2022 Sri Lankan protests. Weerasinghe is a career officer of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, where he previously held roles as chief economist and senior deputy governor.
