Ferit Orhan Pamuk is a Turkish novelist, screenwriter, and academic, recognized as the recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Literature. He is the first Turkish Nobel laureate and his works have sold over 13 million copies in 63 languages, establishing him as Turkey's best-selling writer. Pamuk currently holds the position of Robert Yik-Fong Tam Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University, where he teaches writing and comparative literature.
