Niklas Arnberg serves as a Professor of Virology at Umeå Universitet, a position he has held since 2011. His research focuses on viruses, antiviral drugs, and virus-caused pandemics.

In addition to his academic role, Arnberg is the Secretary General for the Virus- och pandemifonden. He has also been the Chairman for the Virus- och pandemifonden - Svenska Sällskapet för Virologi since 2016.
