Sir Nigel Sheinwald is a distinguished former British diplomat with a career spanning significant international roles. He served as British Ambassador to the United States from 2007 to 2012 and as British Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the European Union from 2000 to 2003. Prior to these ambassadorial appointments, he was the Foreign Policy and Defence Adviser to the Prime Minister from 2003 to 2007, and Head of the Cabinet Office Defence and Overseas Secretariat.
