Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez is a Salvadoran politician and businessman who has served as the 81st president of El Salvador since 2019. Prior to his presidency, Bukele entered politics in 2011, joining the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) and being elected mayor of Nuevo Cuscatlán in 2012. He later served as Mayor of San Salvador from 2015 to 2018.
