Naoko Yamazaki, born December 27, 1970, is a Japanese engineer and former astronaut. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1993 and a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1996, both from the University of Tokyo. Yamazaki joined the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA), now JAXA, in 1996, where she contributed to the development of the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) for the International Space Station (ISS).
