Nando de Freitas is the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft AI, a position he has held since 2024. In this role, he focuses on understanding and building intelligence responsibly. He also serves as a Fellow at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, a position he has held since 2008.
Prior to joining Microsoft AI, de Freitas spent over a decade at Google DeepMind.
