Nancy Qian is the James J. O'Connor Professor of economics at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Her research focuses on uncovering the fundamental drivers of long-run economic growth, including geography, demography, culture, institutions, and geo-economics.
At Northwestern, Professor Qian teaches statistics and Geo-economics. She co-directs the Global Poverty Research Lab and co-organizes the economic history workshop.
