Ermira "Mira" Murati is an Albanian-American business executive. She is the founder of Thinking Machines Lab, an AI startup she launched in February 2025. Prior to this, Murati was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of OpenAI, a role she held until September 2024. At OpenAI, she was instrumental in leading the development of key AI products, including ChatGPT, Dall-E, Codex, and Sora, while overseeing the company's research, product, and safety teams.
