Michael Christopher Woodford, MBE, is an English businessman best known for his role in exposing the Olympus scandal. After joining Olympus in 1981 and managing its European operations, he became the first non-Japanese CEO of the company in October 2011. Within two weeks of his appointment, he was removed from his position after questioning over US$1 billion in fees paid to obscure companies, which were later revealed to be part of a $1.7 billion accounting fraud.
