Michael Spence serves as the President and Provost of UCL (University College London), an institution founded in 1826 and consistently ranked among the world's top 10 universities. UCL is recognized as a leading research institution, with staff and alumni having received 29 Nobel Prizes since 1901. Prior to his role at UCL, Dr. Spence was the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sydney, the first university established in Australia in 1850.
