Michael Platt serves as the Director of the Wharton Neuroscience Initiative and holds the position of James S. Riepe University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, a role he has held since 2015. His academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA), both in Anthropology.

Beyond his academic contributions, Platt is also an entrepreneur and advisor. He co-founded Cogwear in 2018 and NextFuture in 2025.
