Biography

Michael Piwowar serves as the Executive Vice President of Milken Institute Finance. Previously, he was a federal government official, notably serving as a Commissioner on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 2013 until 2018. During his tenure at the SEC, he joined a colleague in dissenting to some of the agency's rules and enforcement actions.

Prior to his role at the SEC, Piwowar contributed to significant financial legislation, helping to write the 2010 Dodd–Frank Act.
