Michael Thomas Osterholm is an American epidemiologist and a Regents Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. He directs the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota, a role he holds currently. His academic background includes a B.
A. in biology and political science from Luther College, followed by an M.S.
and Ph.D. in environmental health, and an M.
P.H. in epidemiology, all from the University of Minnesota.
