Michael McGinn is an American lawyer and politician who served as the mayor of Seattle, Washington. Elected in November 2009, his campaign was characterized by its opposition to the proposed tunnel replacement for the Alaskan Way Viaduct. He garnered support from groups considered "political outsiders," including environmentalists, biking advocates, musicians, advocates for the poor, nightclub owners, and younger voters.
