Michael Haliassos serves as a Research Professor and Executive Board Member at the Institute For Monetary And Financial Stability (IMFS). He also directs the Research and Policy Network on Household Finance at CEPR - Centre For Economic Policy Research.

In 2019, Haliassos co-edited the book "Capital Markets Union and Beyond," which was published by MIT Press.
