Heinz Michael Gahler is a German diplomat and politician who has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since the 1999 election. He is a member of the Christian Democratic Union, part of the European People's Party, and currently holds the position of vice-president of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Gahler began his political career in 1986, winning a seat on the city council of Hattersheim.
