Biography

Michael G. Morony has served as a Professor of History at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) since 1974. Born in Sacramento in 1939 and raised in Alaska, he pursued his academic career with a BA in Near Eastern Languages from the University of California, Berkeley. He furthered his studies at UCLA, earning an MA in Islamic Studies and a PhD in History in 1972.
