Michael Froman is the current president of the Council on Foreign Relations. He served as the U.S.
Trade Representative from 2013 to 2017. During his tenure, he was nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed on June 19, 2013. Prior to this, Froman was Assistant to the President of the United States and Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs, a position held jointly at the National Security Council and the National Economic Council.
