Mia Amor Mottley is a Barbadian politician and attorney, currently serving as the eighth Prime Minister of Barbados since 2018. She is also the Leader of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) since 2008, making her the first woman to hold both positions. Under her leadership, Barbados transitioned from a constitutional monarchy to a republican system, with Mottley becoming the country's first prime minister under this new system.
