Mehrsa Baradaran is an Iranian-American legal scholar and Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine, a position she has held since 2019. She is recognized for her studies of banking law and her advocacy for postal banking as a means to expand financial services to underserved communities. Baradaran has also proposed the necessity of a 'Black New Deal' as a strategy to address the racial wealth gap.
