Matthew White Ridley, commonly known as Matt Ridley, is a British science writer, journalist, and businessman. He is recognized for his writings on science, the environment, and economics, contributing regularly to The Times newspaper. Ridley is also a libertarian and a supporter of Brexit.
Ridley's journalism career began at The Economist in 1984, where he served as a science editor, Washington, D.C. correspondent, and American editor until 1992.
