Matthew England is a Scientia Professor of Ocean & Climate Dynamics at the University of New South Wales Centre for Marine Science and Innovation (CMSI). He also serves as the Director of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Our Future Oceans. His work involves researching the future of our oceans.

Professor England is recognized as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union.
