Matthew Dowd is an American political pundit and consultant. He currently serves as chief strategist at HemoSonics. Dowd gained prominence as the chief strategist for the Bush–Cheney 2004 presidential campaign. Following his work in political campaigns, he became a political analyst for ABC News and MSNBC.
Dowd's political career began as a Democrat, working on the staffs of Senator Lloyd Bentsen and Representative Dick Gephardt, among others.
