Masayoshi Son is a Japanese entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, widely recognized as the founder, representative director, corporate officer, chairman, and chief executive of SoftBank Group (SBG). Born Masayoshi Yasumoto in 1957 to Zainichi Korean parents, he achieved early notability in PC software distribution, computing-related book and magazine publishing, and telecommunications in Japan, starting in the 1980s.
