Masaharu Morimoto is a Japanese chef and restaurateur, best known to millions as a star of the Japanese TV cooking show Iron Chef and its spinoff Iron Chef America. He has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his seamless integration of Western and Japanese ingredients, developing a unique fusion style of cuisine.
Born in Hiroshima, Morimoto received practical training in sushi and traditional Kaiseki cuisine. He opened his own restaurant in Hiroshima in 1980.
