Mary R. Ziegler is the Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at the University of California, Davis School of Law.

As a distinguished legal historian and Guggenheim Fellow, she is recognized for her extensive work on the history of abortion in the United States. She also serves as a member of the Committee of Scholars tasked with shaping a new Smithsonian museum on US Women's History.
