Biography

Martin Griffiths is a British diplomat and an experienced conflict mediator. He served as the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations from 2021 to 2024. Prior to this, he was the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen from 2018 to 2021, a role that included visiting Iran in an attempt to find a political solution to the Yemeni Civil War.
