Mark T. Kimmitt is a retired American brigadier general and former diplomat, currently working as a defense consultant. He served as the 16th Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs under George W.
Bush from August 2008 to January 2009. Prior to this, he was a brigadier general in the United States Army, retiring in December 2006, and held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Middle East.
