Mark McEwan is an American-born Canadian celebrity chef, restaurateur, and entrepreneur based in Toronto, Ontario. He began his culinary career as a dishwasher in Buffalo, New York, and later graduated from George Brown College in 1979. In 1981, McEwan joined the Sutton Place Hotel in Toronto as executive sous chef, becoming chef two years later.
In 1990, McEwan opened his first restaurant, North 44, which set a new standard for Toronto's culinary scene.
