Biography

Mark Henry Gitenstein is an American lawyer and diplomat. He currently serves as the United States Ambassador to the European Union, a position he was nominated for by President Joe Biden in July 2021 and confirmed for in December 2021. Prior to this, Gitenstein served as the United States Ambassador to Romania from 2009 to 2012, following his nomination by President Barack Obama.

Throughout his career, Gitenstein has held significant legal and advisory roles.
