Mark Buchanan is an American outreach physicist and author, born in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics. Buchanan has contributed significantly to science communication, having served as an editor for the international journal Nature and the popular science magazine New Scientist. He currently writes a monthly column for the journal Nature Physics and has been a guest columnist for The New York Times.
