Marc Lasry is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder of Avenue Capital Group, an investment firm he established in 1995. Avenue Capital Group focuses on distressed debt and special situations, primarily in the United States, and has expanded its investment focus to Europe and Asia. The firm has managed as much as $11 billion in assets. Lasry co-founded Avenue Capital Group with his sister, Sonia Gardner, investing $7 million of their own capital.
